The Tennessee Titans finish mini camp this week and enter the seasons dead period.
The Tennessee Titans finished their three day mini camp this week with a coaches vs players punt, pass, and kick contest. Obviously players were not allowed to compete at their own position.
The first round was actually won by the coaches but they elected to give the players another chance. The end result was Dennis Kelly(offensive lineman) kicked a twenty seven yard field goal to win for the players.
“I wouldn’t say worried,’’ Kelly said with a smile when asked if kicker Ryan Succopshould be concerned about losing his job. “But (my kick), it’s there, it’s on tape.
“The whole group did great. Jace hit a bomb, and I just had to seal it off.”
This meant the coaches would have to work Friday which was probably in the cards anyway.
Davis seems to have fully recovered from his ankle surgery he had prior to the draft. Marcus Mariota looks 100% with a month and a half still to go but
This week would offer the first real speed practice for fifth overall pick Corey Davis. Davis displayed the size, speed, and catch ability he was drafted for coming down with the ball surrounded by defenders. He should make an impact for the Titans on day one.
The season dead period started Friday and last until the Titans first spring practice July 29th. In this period, the Tennessee Titans staff are not allowed to contact the players.
This time will give all the players time to recover from all their surgeries and promises a healthy start to the 2017 season.
