Nashville put their best foot forward assembling the largest soccer crowd in state history in July and approving 225 million for a new stadium to be built at Nashville fairgrounds.

Another key element would be the overwhelming support the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators receive from the city.  Nashville has proven we know how to support our sports teams.

The commissioners took a good look at the city’s response and support of the Nashville Predators in their unsuspecting playoff run.  The support came not only from fans but also city officials demonstrating they know how to host a crowd.

The MLS also looked at the pandemonium generated the first year the Titans opened at what is now Nissan Stadium.  The town was powder blue through out the year.

Of the 12 cities originally announced, Nashville was originally thought to have to small of a population to host a third professional team.  However, after officials viewed the demographics, it was clear there is nothing Nashvillians would rather do than support their pro teams.

Assuming Nashville is awarded the bid today, the team would not begin play until 2019, possibly 2020.  While the plans and revenue have been approved for the stadium, Nashville counsel man will still have to relocate the venue for current events at the fair grounds.
