The Nashville Predators announced Friday in a Press Conference, Ryan Johansen signs 8 year deal with Preds.  The deal is reportedly worth 64 million and marks the longest contract ever handed out by the Preds.

General Manager David Poile was clearly impressed with Johansen play and presence on the ice to offer such a long term deal. “It’s probably one of the best days of my life,” Johansen said during the short news conference. “There’s no better place to play in the NHL right than Nashville.”

Johansen was a key ingredient in last years play off run until he injured his hip and was unable to play in the last two series.  He under went surgery shortly after the game and was expected to make a full recovery.  Reports say Johansen will be a full go for the beginning of the season.

The signing of Centerman Ryan Johansen to such a long deal, raises more questions as to the return of team Captain Mike Fisher, also a Centerman.

One can only hope as much of the team returns as possible, combing efforts to make yet another great run.
